Move to Southern California for a bit...
I've lately become really attracted to the idea. I'd like to see my work influenced by the environment down there, the expanse of the urban landscape, the smiling grit, and that sun. Living in Barcelona made me really notice the effect of light in a Mediterranean climate... the shadows, the changes in colour. After bringing back a collage made in Baja, I noticed the blues were just not as brilliant here as they were down there. Oh well, one day!
Until that day, I suppose I'll just look at Ed Ruscha books and watch Snoop and his westcoast homies:
(Not saying I'd last a day in compton but, I love this...)
