Angels and Astronauts on a Rainy Night in Barcelona

After a rather long siesta one day last week I decided to check out some exhibits in the local galleries on Rambla de Catalunya.
After seeing some rather creepy figurative paintings of Gino Rubert (Mexico, 1969) in Galeria Senda, I sloshed through the pouring rain to the next gallery down the road; Galeria Joan Prats. There, Aleksandra Mir, (Poland, 1967) had a solo show. The photo below is of my favorite work of Mir's, taken on that opening night. With her collage work in this collection she poses the question "When we look at science and religion, are we looking at the same technology at different levels of evolution?" and in more simple terms, she asks "If angels and astronauts share they same sky, isn't it time they were introduced?"

Hell yeah!
Religious iconography and space travel! I like it!
