After coming back from my trip to Europe this summer, I developed a new set of eyes when looking at the city I live in. When biking to Yoga a few times a week, I began to notice the change in East Vancouver's end of False Creek's landscape. A place usually ignored or announced undeveloped, I started to appreciate, in all it's quiet and understated ways. My dad and I went to a Carol Sewyer show at the Republic gallery earlier this winter. She also lives in Strathcona and her work is very much inspired by this area of our city.
